It's Wintertime: Let's Talk About Saunas And The Benefits Of Using Them

Hey guys,
Due to the fact that it has been one of the coldest winters in recent history across many parts of the country, I figured it would be a very fitting idea to write a quick post about the health benefits of using a sauna and share a few photos of the sauna in my house. After all, the Finns have reportedly been using saunas for thousands of years in order to survive the harsh Nordic winters! Therefore, I did a simple Google search for "health benefits of using a sauna," and began perusing a few articles, and ultimately came across Benefits of Sitting in a Sauna by Christina Dambra on It is a highly informative piece and I would just like to share a few of the highlights with you.

The article begins with a nice little introduction in which the author describes how saunas have been used throughout centuries in various parts of the world for health benefits, and she also talks of how sweating has been a proven and effective way to rid your body of harmful toxins. The author then goes on to list the benefits of using a sauna. Some of the benefits she lists include, but are not limited to: detoxification of the body, weight loss, improved circulation, and pain and sinus relief.

She then goes on to elaborate on how saunas help with improved blood circulation, weight loss, and body relaxation by writing a paragraph on each of the aforementioned. She also lists contraindications, and claims that while sauna bathing is typically safe for those who have coronary heart disease, one should check with their physician if they have any concerns.
